Unit 3900 of the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) was established by the War Department at Oregon State College in March 1943. The program provided training for high grade technicians and specialists needed by the Army for the war effort. Most of the instruction was provided by regular Oregon State College faculty; E.B. Eager, Richard B., 1922-

Eager (1922- ) served as an intelligence officer with the 970th CIC Detachment in Germany. He was honorably discharged from WWII service in 1947, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant.
